Oakland, Calif.—We celebrated Juneteenth 2021 with a couple hundred booths selling food, clothing, beauty products, etc. But there were also book stalls featuring Black history and tables staffed by people from various movements. Among them were All of Us or None, Underground Scholars’ Initiative, and UNITE (Unique Natives Interacting Together to Elevate).
The most urgent plea came from young Black women seeking recognition of the
