January 3, 2019

When: Wednesday, January 9, 2019, 6:30 PM
Where: News and Letters Library, 228 S. Wabash, Room 230, Chicago

News and Letters Committees invites you to an Editing Session

Bring your article or story to the Editing Session and learn about revolutionary journalism at the same time. Get a preview of what will be in the January-February issue and add your own story from your factory, picket line, demonstration, or experience.

Discuss articles for the next issue, including:

  • The lead article on the state of the U.S. and world economy and labor
  • The continuing attacks on the Syrian revolution and the cynical maneuvers there of world powers from the U.S. to Russia and regional powers such as Turkey and Iran
  • Hear—in strikers’ own words—about the first-ever charter school teachers’ strike in the nation, which took place in Chicago
  • The demands for climate justice and the calls for a “Green New Deal”
  • The new neofascist president of Brazil
  • Contradictions in the leadership of the Women’s March
  • China’s high-tech totalitarian controls being tried out in Xinjiang
  • The murder of a prominent journalist in Yemen, reported by a Yemeni journalist
  • A prisoner’s thoughts on the idea of freedom and how prisoners discuss it

And keep in mind your own contribution for the next issue.  Here’s the deadline announcement:
